More information on Working in the Outback:
Working in the Outback can mean a few things for you. You may work in a small remote town an hour and a half from the next town; you may work in a larger town with all the facilities you require; some of the remoter towns may not have mobile phone coverage (which could be a good thing!); you will meet the locals and the not so locals that live out here; you'll get to explore the area and some of the best natural areas in Australia; AND, of course, you will have fun!
It's comparatively laid back in the Outback but employers will still expect you to provide good service to customers in the service industries and you will need to work. Remember that the culture of the people around you will be that you will need to show initiative and be a conscientious worker - you will be expected to work to your best ability at all times. As far as the work goes it's no different to working in a city or on the coast, just a little less hectic! But you will have the benefit of being in a fabulous location - you just have to get out and enjoy it!
