State

Tourism Queensland is the State Tourism Organisation (STO) whose primary responsibility is to facilitate the promotion, marketing and development of tourism and travel to and within Queensland and is a statutory body under the jurisdiction of the Qld Minister for Tourism.
TQ’s Functions are:
· To facilitate the promotion and marketing, domestically and internationally, of tourism and travel
· To facilitate the development of the tourist and travel industry
· To facilitate the making of tourism and travel arrangements
· To facilitate the provision of tourism and travel information services, and
· To prepare a State tourist and industry strategic marketing plan in extensive consultation with the tourist industry, the general community and appropriate departments

Queensland Tourism Industry Council – www.qtic.com.au
QTIC is the State peak body for tourism. They are a not for profit membership organisation representing members' interests - both large and small.
QTIC is the lead agency for a number of actions from the Qld Tourism Strategy and also elements of the National Long Term Tourism Strategy.
The QTIC Skills Link has the primary responsibility to implement the Tourism and Hospitality Skills Alliance for the identification of industry training needs and emerging industry trends to assist the Queensland Government in guiding Government policy and in influencing public funding for training.
Regional
Outback Queensland Tourism Association – no website
OQTA is a membership based organisation responsible for marketing and promoting the region to target markets on behalf of the local tourism industry, businesses, communities and local government within the region. As the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for the Outback region it is OQTA’s responsibility to market the Outback as well as assisting in the management, leadership and planning for the future development of tourism infrastructure. The key function of any RTO is to attract visitors to their destination.
OQTA have a number of marketing initiatives that you can be involved in to market your business specifically.

Local Tourism Associations
LTAs nurture and strengthen local tourism businesses by liaising with regional tourism authorities and state bodies on behalf of operators. Operators are encouraged to make contact and participate with the local regional tourism organisation in their area. Industry Associations and OrganisationsIndustry groups can provide a number of resources and opportunities to assist tourism industry operators with their day-to-day business activities.
